- CAP Compensation and Benefits
As an award-winning workplace, the CAP provides a comprehensive compensation and benefits package for all employees. The range of benefits we offer you and your family is among the key features that make the CAP an employer of choice.
Compensation
Our compensation philosophy focuses on attracting and retaining the right individuals for our future success. Our compensation package includes a market-competitive base salary and incentive program.
Well-being
Flexible Work - We offer choices and options in the way work is performed at the CAP, including remote work and flexible hours.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Wellness - We partner with an EAP vendor to provide confidential assistance at no charge to our employees for guidance through difficult situations or day-to-day tasks. We also offer a wide array of wellness programs to help our employees stay mentally, physically, and financially healthy.
Learning and Development - We are dedicated to developing and inspiring employees to continually grow as leaders through a variety of internal and external learning and development programs. In addition, we offer tuition reimbursement for college degrees and professional certifications.
Time Off
Paid Time Off (PTO) - Each employee receives PTO to be used for a variety of reasons including vacation, illness, personal business, and more. Employees begin accruing PTO on day one and the amount of PTO increases with years of service.
Holidays - We provide ten paid holidays per year, two of which are floating to ensure employees can celebrate the holidays that are meaningful to them.
Volunteer Time – We encourage employees to give back to their communities by offering two paid days annually to be used for volunteer activities.
Family Leave – We offer paid family leave for specific qualifying events.
Healthcare
We provide medical, dental and vision coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield and VSP Vision Care. We offer two medical plans (PPO and High Deductible Health Plan) that not only provide coverage for illness and injury, but also enable you and your family to focus on staying well.
The Transparency in Coverage Final Rules require certain group health plans to disclose on a public website information regarding in-network provider rates and historical out-of-network allowed amounts and build charges for covered items and services in two separate machine readable files (MRFs). Find the MRFs for the benefit package options under the College of American Pathologists' employee welfare benefit plan here.
Financial
401(k) - We ensure our employees are prepared financially for retirement with a generous 401(k) plan. Employees are eligible for a matching contribution with each paycheck and a year-end contribution.
Healthcare Reimbursement Accounts - Employees can enroll in Medical and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts as well as a Health Savings Account.
Life and Disability Coverage
Life Insurance - We help our employees maintain financial security by providing a company paid group life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) benefit. In addition, employees can enroll in voluntary options such as supplemental life and AD&D coverage, whole life with long-term care, and critical illness insurance.
Disability - The CAP provides short-term disability and long-term disability coverage to eligible employees who cannot work due to illness, injury, or pregnancy
