Strategic leadership workshop opens CAP meeting in Washington

Today's House of Delegates and Pathologists Leadership Summit began with an all-day workshop, Increase Your Influence Through Strategic Leadership, focused on helping pathologists build credibility and influence.

  • Why it matters: The workshop helped CAP members learn how to build social capital and improve their political skills to benefit their laboratories and practices.

Event details: Jim Austin from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania led the course.

  • The workshop was developed by the CAP's Engaged Leadership Academy and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
  • Attendees participated in breakout sessions to discuss managing organizational trust and how to apply their newfound leadership skills.

Collaboration in practice: Carey August, MD, FCAP, Rebecca L. Johnson, MD, FCAP, and Amyn M. Rojiani, MD, PhD, CPE, FCAP, were faculty advisors for the session.

Hundreds attended this afternoon's networking session to kick off the next three days of meetings in Washington, DC.
